Little Boy Blue arrives on ITV on Sunday, May 24th but has the heartwrenching drama been on TV before? Is it a repeat?

ITV have always had a penchant for creating good drama series

but thanks to the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent lockdown, filming undoubtedly has been halted on a number of series and post-production on others will likely have been slowed as well.

As a result, once Van Der Valk left our screens on May 10th, we’ve seen several repeated programmes air on ITV instead.

The series contains four episodes in total and rather than releasing weekly, each episode will follow daily until Wednesday, May 27th.


What is Little Boy Blue about?

Little Boy Blue tells the true story of Rhys Jones, an 11-year-old Everton fan who was shot dead in August 2007 while walking home alone from football, as well as the investigation into his murder.

Stephen Graham stars as Detective Superintendent Dave Kelly, the officer leading the investigation into Rhys Jones’ death while the victim himself is played by Sonny Beyga.

Yes, Little Boy Blue has indeed been on TV before.

The series first aired on ITV in April and May 2017 and attracted roughly eight million viewers per episodes.

As mentioned, Little Boy Blue will air daily at 9pm on ITV from May 24th to May 27th.
