Moussa Dembele raved about Celtic striker and reported Arsenal and Newcastle United target Odsonne Edouard on BT Sport 1 (9:45pm, May 23, 2020).

The Lyon striker played with Edouard at Celtic, and the Frenchman has spoken highly of his compatriot.

According to The Scottish Mail (print edition, page 131, May 17, 2020), Arsenal and Newcastle are interested in signing Edouard from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

Dembele said about Edouard on BT Sport 1 (9:45pm, May 23, 2020), as transcribed by The Scottish Sun: “When he first came, he was a bit shy. Because we come from the same place, I tried to help him. I gave him a lot of advice and after that he changed, from one player to another.

“Odsonne is a very, very good player. He will go straight to the top. I think we saw what he was capable of this season.

“He’s a fantastic player, a player that I rate and hopefully he’ll go to the very top with Celtic. I wish him only good luck.”

Stats

As stated on Celtic’s official website, Edouard has scored 62 goals in 126 appearances in all competitions for the Glasgow giants so far in his career.

According to WhoScored, the 22-year-old scored 22 goals in 27 Scottish Premiership matches, and scored three goals and provided two assists in six Europa League games for the Hoops this season.

Celtic stay

While Arsenal and Newcastle are very attractive clubs, perhaps Edouard should stay at Celtic next season.

The Hoops will be aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th season in a row in 2020-21.

Edouard will forever be remembered by Celtic fans if he stays and helps the Glasgow giants make history next season.

The striker is only 22 years of age now, and the Frenchman will get his move to a big club in the Premier League next summer.
