Newcastle United-linked Arturo Vidal has said that he is happy at Barcelona and does not want to leave, as quoted in The Daily Mail.
According to ITA Sport Press, Vidal is open to joining Newcastle from Spanish and European giants Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that the 33-year-old Chile international midfielder will switch to the Premier League club but only if his former Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri makes the move as well.
However, it seems that Vidal has no plan whatsoever to leave the Blaugrana, with the midfielder stating that he is happy at Barca and wants to stay at Camp Nou.
The Daily Mail quotes Vidal as saying: “I am very happy and comfortable in Barcelona and of course I want to stay here.
“I am also feeling in better shape than ever. This is a good group and I have got great friends in the dressing room.”
Newcastle United move feasible?
While Vidal may want to stay at Barcelona, the club themselves could decide to sell the former Juventus and Bayern Munich star, described by Barca legend Andres Iniesta as “technically a very gifted player”, as quoted on CDF earlier this month (click here to read more).
If the proposed takeover by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund goes through, as reported by The Sun, then Newcastle will be in a position to spend big money, and their project could be very attractive to Vidal.
