According to The Chronicle, the prospective new owners of Newcastle United plan to name the East Stand after a club legend and the number nine bar after Alan Shearer.

Shearer is one of the greatest players to have ever played for Newcastle and is hugely popular among the St. James’ Park faithful.

The bar was called Shearer’s Bar until 2013 when it was changed, as reported by The Daily Mail at the time.

According to The Chronicle, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund will own 80% of Newcastle when the takeover goes through.
