Cedric Soares was among the Arsenal players who got back to training on Friday.

The Southampton loanee joined the Gunners on a half-season loan in January but injury prevented him from making his debut for the North Londoners.

He was scheduled to be in the squad for Arsenal’s visit of Manchester City in March, but that midweek match was postponed and Mikel Arteta’s side haven’t had a game since.

But the Portugal international is fighting fit these days and here’s what the right-back wrote on Twitter after returning to London Colney.

Is there a future for Soares at Arsenal? Potentially.

He probably won’t play ahead of Hector Bellerin, but the Spaniard has a worrying injury history and therefore it’s essential that Arteta has adequate plan-b options for the former Barcelona product.

Last month, Soares, who is out of contract with the South-Coast club in the summer, told Sky Sports that he couldn’t wait to make his Arsenal debut, which at least suggests he’s going to be around for after his original loan expires, given that Premier League football might not be back for long before then.
