According to Diario Sport, reported Arsenal target Neto is only willing to leave Barcelona to become a first-teamer at a club playing European football.
The one-capped Brazil international is expected to leave Barca after just one year.
Neto joined the Catalans from Valencia last summer. And, a report in Superdeporte claims Valencia are keen on having him back but face competition from Arsenal.
The Gunners are looking to bolster their goalkeeping options this summer.
Bernd Leno is the current number one at the Emirates Stadium. However, beyond the German, Arsenal lack a quality number two to push him for a place.
Emiliano Martinez currently fills that role. But the 27-year-old featured only sparingly in cup games prior to the Covid-19 suspension.
Neto is no doubt of higher quality, making three first-team appearances for Barcelona since arriving at the Nou Camp as Andre ter Stegen’s understudy.
Superdeporte claim Barcelona are seeking around £18 million for him.
But the latest reports from Diario Sport make a move to Arsenal appear unlikely.
The Gunners are sitting in ninth place in the Premier League. A spot in Europe next season isn’t guaranteed, while Leno is a capable regular number one.
Neto would occupy a similar role at Arsenal as he already does in Barcelona.
Arsenal have also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain’s Alphonse Areola (Mundo Deportivo), suggesting they prioritise another shot-stopper this summer.
