This is not a drill! A new trailer for Jujutsu Kaisen has just been released and fans are losing their minds. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming series.
Jujutsu Kaisen was one of the most popular manga series to never get an anime adaptation but now, that’s all changed.
The anime is being developed by MAPPA studio, the popular Japanese animation studio responsible for Inuyashiki (2017), Zombie Land Saga (2018) and Dorohedoro (2020).
The first trailer may have only dropped a few hours ago, but the excitement that the reveal has caused is unbelievable.
Here is everything you need to know about fans reaction, release date and storyline for Jujutsu Kaisen season 1.
Jujutsu Kaisen trailer reaction
It’s safe to say that fans of the original manga series are very excited to see Jujutsu Kaisen get its very own anime.
The reaction on Twitter has been incredible, with both Jujutsu Kaisen and MAPPA trending in Japan for hours last night.
The most obvious reaction from fans is excitement. With an unbelievable storyline, deep character development and epic fight sequences, the enthusiasm for the Jujutsu Kaisen anime is well deserved.
Many are also claiming that this will be the best anime series of 2020 – a huge statement considering we are only in May!
However, other fans have gone down a different path with their reaction.
Many are just thankful that they were able to be part of the original Jujutsu Kaisen fandom, acknowledging that the community will never be the same again.
Jujutsu Kaisen anime release date
The anime is scheduled to drop in October 2020 on Netflix Japan.
However, with the excitement from this trailer across the world, expect Netflix in the UK and US to also release the anime.
So, fans past and present don’t have long to wait – although it will feel like years to many.
Hopefully there won’t be any delays or scheduling conflicts that arise because of the coronavirus pandemic. Although the production team will want to take advantage of the hype this trailer has caused, just keep an eye out for any new announcements.
Jujutsu Kaisen anime storyline
The first trailer is packed with original characters and the central fight scene is the first major battle of the manga.
The anime should therefore follow that of the manga series – logically, it makes sense considering how epic the manga’s plot is.
Many eagle-eyed fans of the original manga can probably spot more references within the trailer itself.
However, with the sheer volume of new fans that are going to come from this trailer, perhaps its best to let that side of the fandom develop without major spoilers.
