Inhuman Resources arrived on Netflix on May 15th but the biggest talking point about the series is its lead actor, none other than Eric Cantona!
As an American streaming service, Netflix is usually best known for its big-budget drama series such as Stranger Things and The Witcher.
In recent years, however, we’ve seen more and more diverse content arrive on Netflix to help satisfy the streaming service’s growing global audience.
From docuseries and reality TV to Oscar-winning films and international TV series, there’s certainly plenty to choose from.
Inhuman Resources is a French TV series that falls into the latter of the categories we’ve mentioned and after releasing in April 2020, the show is starting to pick up some traction on Netflix.
Part of the reason behind its growing popularity is thanks to the surprising name leading the show’s cast of actors.
None other than former France and Manchester United football star, Eric Cantona.
Inhuman Resources on Netflix
Inhuman Resources arrived on Netflix on May 15th, after an impressive release in France at the tail-end of April.
The six-episode series tells the story of 57-year-old Alain Delambre, an ageing and unemployed HR director who has been left taking on odd jobs to try and maintain his mortgage payments.
As luck would have it, an opening emerges for an HR recruiter role and after a series of tests and interviews, Alain and the remaining applicants must undertake a role-playing test of a hostage situation.
However, there’s a slightly sinister reason behind the over-rigorous hiring scheme.
Eric Cantona stars in the lead role
Taking on the role of Alain Delambre is former France and Manchester United football star, Eric Cantona.
Cantona, who is currently 53 years old (54 as of May 24th, 2020), is obviously best known as a world-class soccer star but after hanging up his boots in 1997, was quick to turn to the acting profession full-time.
As of 2020, Cantona has now spent more time as a professional actor than he did as a top-level professional football player.
Eric Cantona: Films and TV
While Cantona may not have retired from football until 1997, his acting debut actually came in 1995 in the French film, Happiness Is in the Field.
Since then, however, Cantona has gone on to appear in almost 40 acting roles, the most prominent of which have come in the likes of Elizabeth alongside Cate Blanchett, The Salvation and the 2009 film Looking For Eric where he played a hallucinatory version of himself.
According to IMDb, Cantona doesn’t have any acting roles in the works currently but we’re confident that after his stellar Netflix performance, it won’t be long before the former football star appears on our screens once again.
Inhuman Resources, starring Eric Cantona in its lead role, is available to stream now on Netflix after releasing on the streaming service on May 15th.
