According to Sky Germany, Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is ready to leave this summer after nine years with the club.
It’s claimed that Bellerin wants to move on this summer, seemingly eyeing up a new club. The 25-year-old still has more than three years left to run on his deal with the Gunners.
That may mean that Arsenal can take a hard stance with Bellerin, but if he wants to leave, then Mikel Arteta may be tempted to just get rid.
Arteta took Cedric Soares on loan in January, possibly viewing him as Bellerin’s replacement. The report notes that Bellerin makes sense as a Bayern Munich target, but doesn’t actually state that the Bundesliga giants want him.
The Spaniard joined Arsenal from Barcelona in 2011, joining the youth ranks with the Gunners despite being highly-regarded with his hometown club.
Just last week, Mundo Deportivo stated that Barca had been offered the chance to re-sign Bellerin. However, potentially to his disappointment, they said no.
Bellerin has made nearly 200 appearances for Arsenal, but fighting back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in January 2019 has been difficult.
With Arsenal needing money to fund their own moves this summer, selling an allegedly wantaway player like Bellerin does make some sense – but they would need to find a buyer first.
