Clubs are queuing up to sign West Ham United starlet Sead Haksabanovic with Futboll Direkt reporting that the Premier League outfit have already rejected a £5 million offer for the Montenegro international.

Hammers fans everywhere would be forgiven if they needed to be reminded about the very existence of a 21-year-old winger who moved to the London Stadium in a rather under-the-radar deal in 2017.

After all, Haksabanovic has featured just once in West Ham colours since an EFL Cup outing against Bolton Wanderers three seasons ago. But write this forgotten man off at your peril.

The Sweden-born attacker is not just an established international these days, he is also a man in serious form. A loan spell at Norkopping has seen Haksabanovic produce nine goals and eight assists in 38 matches.

And, suddenly, a player who appeared to have no future whatsoever at West Ham finds himself at the centre of a Europe-wide tug-of-war.

Fotbollskanalen reported recently that Arsenal, Manchester United, AC Milan, Ajax and Rangers were interested and, while Futboll Direkt have not named names, they do say that five clubs at least are on Haksabanovic’s trail.

West Ham have snubbed a £5 million offer – a fee that would have seen them double their money on a player bought during the final throes of the Slaven Bilic era.

Furthermore, Haksabanovic has no interest in being loaned out again this summer. In his eyes, he either stays and fights for his place at West Ham or he leaves – permanently this time.
