Erik Sviatchenko has congratulated Celtic on Twitter on being crowned champions of Scotland.

SPFL have announced today that the Scottish Premiership season has been called early, with Celtic winning the title and bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers ending up second.

The final table has been calculated on a points-per-game basis, with the Hoops making it nine league titles in a row.

Sviatchenko was on the books of Celtic from 2016 until 2018 when he moved to FC Midtjylland on a permanent basis.

Brendan Rodgers – now in charge of Premier League club Leicester City – was then the manager of Celtic when the defender left the Hoops, having failed to play regularly in the first team, as reported by The Scottish Sun at the time.

The 28-year-old Denmark international central defender has congratulated Celtic on being crowned Scottish Premiership champions.

Meanwhile, former Celtic striker Chris Sutton – who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport and BT Sport – has mocked Rangers on Twitter for “closing the gap” on the Hoops to 13 points before the season was suspended and eventually called off.
