Arsenal are reportedly interested in Alphonse Areola, and previous comments from Chelsea Head of Goalkeepers, Christophe Lollichon, regarding the 27-year-old and Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris will be encouraging for the Emirates Stadium faithful.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal are interested in signing Areola in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old France international goalkeeper is on loan at Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain and is scheduled to return to the French club at the end of the season in La Liga, which is suspended at the moment due to the global health crisis.
Areola is a back-up goalkeeper at Madrid, and has played just thrice in La Liga and only twice in the Champions League for Zinedine Zidane’s side so far this season, according to WhoScored.
DEAR KYLE WALKER…
It is clear that the Frenchman will be a back-up to Bernd Leno at Arsenal if he joins the North London outfit.

Leno is the undisputed first choice between the posts for the Gunners, but he needs stiff competition, and Areola will provide that.
If some Arsenal fans are not sure about Areola, then the following comments from Lollichon stating that the Frenchman is better than his compatriot and Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will allay those worries.
The Mirror quoted Lollichon as saying in September 2018 while referring to Areola’s performance against Germany that month: “People live in a dream world when it comes to Lloris a bit too much, but for me Areola is above.
“Against Germany, he was positionally very good and in his ability to come out. It’s the basis of all goalkeepers, but not everyone does it well. He’s pro-active in his anticipation.”
