According to Foot Mercato, Paris Saint-Germain have joined Liverpool in the battle for Vasco da Gama striker Talles Magno.
It’s claimed that the French giants are keen on Magno, having recently brought in Marcin Bulka and Mitchell Bakker to kickstart a youth movement.
Magno would add to that, but it won’t be easy to sign him. The 17-year-old has a €50million (£45million) release clause in his deal, but Vasco would allegedly sell for €30million (£27million).
Liverpool are one of the main contenders for Magno, but it’s now a fierce battle emerging. Sevilla, Lazio, Bayer Leverkusen and Benfica are also thought to be keen.
Goran Matijevic – Magno’s ‘representative for France’ – was contacted by Foot Mercato, but he chose not to comment on the situation at all.
Vasco may be under some pressure to sell given the global pandemic, and Liverpool should be worried by PSG jumping into the race.
Liverpool would usually be more appealing than some of the other clubs in the race, but PSG should have the funds to really run the Reds close.
Magno is predominantly a centre forward, but he can also play out wide. Tipped for a bright future, Magno has hit two goals and one assist in 17 games for Vasco, and Liverpool’s battle to sign him just became so much more difficult.
