It’s that time of the year again when Adrien Rabiot gets linked with a move to Arsenal every few days.
According to Calciomercato, the Gunners are interested in signing the controversial Juventus midfielder.
But it won’t happen and that’s because Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta won’t allow it.
The 25-year-old is definitely a talented midfielder, but he’s also a nuisance and Arteta won’t have any time for such personalities in North London.
The former Paris Saint-Germain star’s attitude is the reason he’s on the market [Mundo Deportivo] after flying back to Italy later than expected, and now must quarantine himself for two weeks.
It was reported that his late return to Turin was in protest over having to reduce his £225,000-a-week salary [Silly Season] due to the global health crisis.
It’s also worth noting that Rabiot spent the last six months of his PSG career completely frozen out of the first-team picture, after being caught visiting nightclubs following major defeats.
Again, he’s a good player, but there’s way too much baggage for Arteta, who dropped Mateo Guendouzi from his squad earlier this year over a training-ground incident in Dubai [The Standard].
The truth is that Arteta means business in what is his first managerial job, and although the likes of Raul Sanllehi and Edu are the transfer guys in North London, the Arsenal boss definitely won’t agree to have Rabiot in his squad.
