The agent of Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has revealed that his client ‘would love’ a return to Italy when the transfer window opens.

The former Sampdoria midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to AC Milan in recent months.

According to Milan News 24, Arsenal have been offered Franck Kessie in a potential swap deal for the Uruguay international, who cost £27 million in 2018 [Calciomercato].

And Pablo Bentancur has claimed that the Gunners star has been in a ‘bad mood’ as of late, revealing that Torreira himself would welcome the chance to return to Serie A.

He told TMW: “Lucas had been in a bit of a bad mood over some technical differences, then he recovered.

“I will have to speak to Arsenal. The player would love to return to Italy, but it must be acknowledged that Arsenal treated him very well and behaved great.”

It looks pretty ominous for Arsenal as far as keeping Torreira goes.

Then again, the Emirates Stadium club might be better off if the South American wants to leave.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta needs hungry and committed players and although Torreira is very decent, offloading him is the best option if the alternative is keeping somebody who’s unhappy.
