Well-known Twitch streamer BadBunny has caused a stir on the internet with comments about her life being more valuable than her viewers.

Twitch is one of the most popular platforms on the internet, with the number of daily users now exceeding 15 million.

With that type of large audience, there is never a shortage of streamer controversy or scandals.

The most recent Twitch controversy focuses on BadBunny, a well-known ‘Just Chatting’ streamer.

In one of her latest streams, BadBunny said that her life was far more valuable than her viewers, but what has been the reaction to her comments?

Who is BadBunny?

‘BadBunny’ is a well-known Twitch streamer that has over 124,000 subscribers on Twitch and 12,000 followers on Twitter.

According to her Twitter bio, BadBunny (real name Nicole) is a “former epidemiologist, current brat. I escaped the alt right pipeline & talk about it here: http://twitch.tv/badbunny (She/Her) btw I’m vegan.”

She is well known within the ‘Just Chatting’ community on Twitch and has appeared the Amouranth podcast multiple times.

She also has a popular Terraria series with fellow streamer ‘Destiny’ as well as let’s play series on the Subnautica and Portal games.

BadBunny isn’t a stranger to controversy, with many content creators also criticising her comments made in January 2020 about the lack of donations and subscribers on her channel.

What did BadBunny say?

BadBunny has recently sparked a significant outcry on the internet after saying that her life was more valuable than those of her viewers.

In a recent stream, she dismissed a positive message from a viewer because it didn’t include a donation, saying “Then give me f**king money! That’s the way that I register your respect. Do you understand?”

This then sparked a rant from BadBunny who claimed, “My value is so much more than all of your value put together everyone in this chat.”

“Like I know every life has value but like my life is far more valuable. All your lives have value but mine is much more valuable than your life.”

The streamer goes on to add, “The fact that you don’t even acknowledge this really disgusts me. It’s like when you see a super super super ugly dude that goes up to like a ten and is like ‘hey babe you want to go out’, it’s like insulting.”

What is the reaction to BadBunny’s comments?

Unsurprisingly, this clip of her has gone viral over Twitter with fans and other content creators alike giving their take on BadBunny’s comments.

Many of her fans are arguing that the clip was taken out of context and that the comment was sarcastic.

However, many people have also criticized BadBunny and for using trolling to gain followers. They have also brought up the fact that this is not the first time this has happened, with BadBunny making similar comments in January.

YouTube news channel, Scarce, briefly covered the outcry, but he argues that BadBunny is just trolling for views. He says “She is trolling to try to get more people to talk about her so that she can get more followers.”

Scarce adds, “A lot of female twitch streamers right now are doing this, they’re saying crazy stuff on their stream in order to get followers in order to get people watching them.”

Others have seen the humour that using the clip out of context can bring – no doubt this will be memed a lot more over the next few days.
