Tottenham have been strongly linked with Chelsea winger Willian – but the man himself has played down the rumours.
Willian is out of contract this summer, and looks set to leave Chelsea. The Blues haven’t been able to agree a new deal with the winger, who is seeking a three-year deal.
Chelsea seemingly feel that would be a big commitment to a player turning 32 in August. Locking him down until close to his 35th birthday is something Chelsea are reluctant to do, with Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech in the mix.
That means Willian will be moving on, and a number of clubs have been linked. The main two sides in the running appear to be Arsenal and Tottenham.
The Daily Mail claim that Arsenal have offered Willian a three-year deal, and he’s now considering the move. Meanwhile, TEAMtalk claim Spurs want the Brazilian, with Richard Keys claiming the winger has already spoken to Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho signed Willian for Chelsea in 2013, ironically hijacking Tottenham’s move. Now, the pair could reunite at Spurs, with the interest making perfect sense.

However, Willian has now spoken to Gustavo Hofman back in Brazil. He claims that he hasn’t spoken to Mourinho in some time now, even though they’re good friends.
As quoted below, Willian went on to say that the rumours of talks with Spurs are lies, and that he has had no offer or conversations from Tottenham as things stand in what is quite a strong denial.
“It is really speculation and sometimes it ends up disturbing the facts a little,” said Willian. “In this case the rumours are totally lying, I had no offer from Tottenham, no conversation either and there is nothing in this news,” he added.
