According to Le 10 Sport, RB Leipzig are looking to swoop into the race for Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

It’s claimed that Leipzig may lose Dayot Upamecano or Ibrahima Konate this summer, and have started looking for replacements.

Todibo is one option. It looks like Barca will sell the defender in order to help raise funds for their own signings.

Leipzig have enjoyed success with French players in recent times. Upamecano and Konate are proof of that, but so are Nordi Mukiele and Christopher Nkunku.

It’s no great shock that they’re looking at Todibo then. They’re allegedly ‘very keen’, but have yet to make contact with his entourage.

The 20-year-old has huge potential, but has yet to really make a mark at Barcelona. Having spent the second half of the season on loan at Schalke, Leipzig have seen him show some promise in German football.

This would be a blow for Everton though. SPORT recently reported that Barca were close to selling Todibo to the Toffees in a €20million (£17.5million) deal.

However, the rumours seem to have sparked other teams into life. Leipzig is an exciting project with European football, something Everton may struggle to compete with this summer.
