Burnley goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has explained his decision to leave Leeds United in the summer of 2019, as quoted in LancsLive.

Peacock-Farrell moved to Premier League club Burnley from Championship outfit Leeds last summer for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £2.5 million.

The 23-year-old Northern Ireland international goalkeeper has explained why he decided to make the switch from the Whites to the Clarets last summer.

Peacock-Farrell told LancsLive: “I think any move you do in football is always a risk. It’s not a gamble as such.

“In terms of the way I see it, the risk versus reward is so much greater. If I do manage to get that opportunity and take it then I am a Premier League player and that is what I have wanted for a long time.

“I weighed it up and this was the best move for me, it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.”

Stats

According to WhoScored, Peacock-Farrell has yet to make his debut in the Premier League for Burnley this season, with football in England suspended at the moment due to the global health crisis.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the 23-year-old played 28 times into Championship, while in 2017-18, the goalkeeper played 11 matches in the league, according to WhoScored.

While Burnley are in mid-table in the Premier League at the moment, Leeds are currently at the top of the Championship.

Meanwhile, Leeds target Cyle Larin has suggested to Takvim that he wants to stay at Besiktas.

Milliyet has claimed of interest in the 25-year-old Canada international striker from the Whites.

The former Orlando City striker joined Besiktas in January 2018 and moved to Zulte Waregem on a season-long loan deal in the summer of 2019.

Larin told Takvim: “I know there are offers for me. But my priority will be to stay at Besiktas.”
