According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Bayern Munich’s Taylor Booth and his younger brother Zach Booth but face competition from Leicester City and Norwich City.
The young American duo are making big progress at their respective clubs.
Taylor Booth, who features for Bayern Munich, claimed two assists against Spurs during his U19 side’s 3-0 UEFA Youth League victory over the North London side.
Tottenham have since kept tabs on the U19 American international. And the Daily Mail claim they have made an enquiry for the midfielder.
His brother, Zach Booth, is also making headlines across the Atlantic.
The Real Salt Lake youngster spent a trial period with Spurs last December.
Spurs, however, face competition for the 16-year-old’s signature with Premier League duo Leicester and Norwich also keen on him.
Zach Booth is also a midfielder, representing America at U17 level.
Tottenham have enjoyed plenty of success over the past decade due to their transfer policy of buying young players and developing them.
Now it appears Spurs must adopt a similar approach out of necessity rather than choice.
The club have spent big on their new stadium. Moreover, their previously tight wage bill has been loosened and the Covid-19 suspension is having a financial impact.
On the field, Jose Mourinho’s side look like falling short of Champions League football.
Spurs are seemingly due a reset and the Daily Mail claim their summer targets will consist of young players with good re-sale value or free transfers.
