Mikel Arteta’s Premier League giants will have to prioritise bargain signings like that of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga prospect Angelo Stiller.
Arsenal are looking to raid Bayern Munich this summer and snatch talented midfielder Angelo Stiller away from the Bundesliga champions, according to BILD.
The Gunners will not be able to spend big this summer with the lack of Champions League football, coupled with the ongoing global health crisis, restricting Mikel Arteta’s ability to rebuild a team which continues to underachieve.
As a result, it seems that Arsenal will be forced to target talented youngsters like Gabriel Martinelli rather than big-money signings a la Nicolas Pepe.
The likes of Filip Marchwinski, Amad Traore and Chris Richards have been linked in recent weeks and, according to reports from Germany, Stiller is the latest fresh-faced talent to register on the Gunners’ radar.
A deep-lying central midfielder who also has plenty to offer at the other end of the pitch, producing six assists in six UEFA Youth League games (10 in all competitions), Stiller is out of contract in 2021 with Bayern facing up to the prospect of losing one of their most exciting youngsters.
BILD suggests that Hansi Flick’s side may be willing to sell Stiller this summer as long as they are free to add a buy-back clause into his contract.
With Mateo Guendouzi, Reiss Nelson, Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah all going from strength to strength in North London since the start of this season, Stiller would be in good company at the Emirates.
