Chelsea were believed to be one of the most interested parties in Zaha in the summer, but their transfer ban meant that no business could be conducted.
It seems that Frank Lampard’s side’s interest in Zaha has not gone away though, despite the impressive start of Christian Pulisic at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea feel that they could need a new winger in the near future, as the futures of both Willian and Pedro are in doubt.
Pedro looks highly likely to leave Chelsea when his contract expires at the end of the season, while Willian could also depart.
The Brazilian’s current deal also runs out at the end of the campaign, and so far no agreement has been reached between club and player - although Lampard would like to keep him.
If Willian and Pedro do leave then Chelsea are expected to make a move for another attacker, and it is suggested that Zaha remains of interest.
The Ivorian international has scored one goal and claimed two assists in 13 Premier League matches for Palace so far this term.
Zaha actually struggled against Chelsea this season, with Reece James impressing when up against him.
However, last term Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri admitted that his side found it difficult to deal with the Palace winger, even though they won 3-1 against the Eagles on that occasion.
“Zaha is very fast," Sarri said about the winger to Goal last term. "Sometimes, I have to say that, especially in the first 20 minutes in the first half and the first 15 minutes of the second half, we were not in good positions under the ball line in the offensive phase. We were in trouble because we gave them, and especially him, spaces to attack.
"So it’s not easy to run with Zaha in a long race.”
If Zaha was brought to Chelsea, he would be in competition with the likes of Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi for a starting place next term.
