Pressure seems to be mounting on Unai Emery at Arsenal.

Danny Murphy has described Arsenal boss Unai Emery as ‘so inept’ tactically.

Under Emery, the Gunners have endured their worst start to a league season since the 1982-83 campaign following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Leicester City.

That result left them eight points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.

The Spanish coach started strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – who reached 50 goals for Arsenal quicker than Thierry Henry – and Alexandre Lacazette in wide positions at The King Power.

The North Londoners also only managed one shot on target against Brendan Rodgers’s side.

Emery’s troops have managed one Premier League win since September and although Murphy says that the recruitment at Arsenal has done him no favours, the former Tottenham midfielder claims that he isn’t up to it tactically.

He told talkSPORT: “His hands are tied a bit in terms of the recruitment possibility, but tactically he’s so inept.”

Murphy is right. Yes, Arsenal aren’t brimming with world-class players, but they have a better squad than Sheffield United and yet the Blades are ahead of them in the Premier League table.

Plus, Emery had the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe during his last season at Paris Saint-Germain and couldn’t get past the last-16 stage of the Champions League. Even with a fantasy XI, would the former Sevilla coach be able to lead this Arsenal side to bigger and better things?
