West Ham United are leading the race for Malcolm Ebiowei.
According to All Nigeria Soccer, West Ham United have taken Arsenal teenager Malcolm Ebiowei on trial ahead of a potential move to East London.
Ebiowei, 16, has been coming up through the Arsenal ranks in recent years, and made his debut for their Under-18’s against Southampton in August.
The attacking midfielder was given his chance after two goals and three assists in his two previous games with the Under-16’s, but he looks set to leave the club.
All Nigeria Soccer claimed last month that Manchester City, Manchester United and Everton were all keen on Ebiowei, whose scholarship with Arsenal will be ending soon.
Now though, West Ham look to have pushed themselves to the front of the queue, having taken Ebiowei on a two-week trial ahead of a possible move.
Ebiowei started and scored in an Under-16 win over Leicester City on Saturday before impressing as a substitute in the Under-18’s later in the day.
Ebiowei is taking his chance with West Ham right now, and given the major interest in his signature, it could be a real coup for the Hammers.
They have the best chance at a deal with Ebiowei already in the door, and a move across London may well be appealing to the teenager should he impress.
