The Ibrox manager is expecting interest in his Rangers players this Janau
Gerrard has previously been adamant that the player is going nowhere in the upcoming transfer window, telling BT Sport he is '100% sure' that the Colombian is going nowhere.
However, his comments this week suggest it might not be as simple a scenario as that.
The Rangers boss remains steadfast in his assertion that he would not sell Morelos, but knows that ultimately the decision will be a business one and completely out of his hands.
As quoted by The Scottish Sun, he said: "A decision like that wouldn’t have anything to do with me — because everyone knows what my answer would be, certainly with Morelos.
"That decision will be taken out of my hands, but Dave King and the board know what my feelings would be if a bid was to land.
"We expect bids to land, not just for Alfredo, but for all the players who are flying at the moment."
Gerrard now appears to be playing a waiting game with regards to Morelos. Clearly he's communicated to the Rangers hierarchy he is desperate for the player to stay. However, with the expectation of bids, can Rangers justify turning down a monster fee?
Big bids for players in Scottish football are rare and it's not something the Gers have capitalised on in recent years. If they're to build a successful footballing model then realising assets at their peak value is key.
Rangers fans would likely point to his importance to this season's short-term ambitions, given his scoring record, but as the Ibrox boss admits, every player at the club has their price.
With Morelos likely banging goals in on the pitch and potential transfer drama off of it, it'll be an exciting couple of months in Govan.
