Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers are challenging Neil Lennon’s Celtic for the title.
James Tavernier of Rangers
Tavernier made the comments following Rangers’ win in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend.
Rangers’ bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic also won at the weekend, meaning that the two sides remain level on 31 points.
Tavernier, 28, has said that he and his Rangers teammates are not worried what Celtic are doing, and has said that they are focused only on themselves.
BBC Sport quotes Tavernier as saying: "We just concentrate on ourselves and don't worry about what's across the road."
Title race
Celtic have won the Scottish Premiership title for the past eight seasons, but this campaign, Rangers are providing the Hoops with real competition.
It is still only November, and there is a long way to go this season, but it certainly looks like Rangers are going to maintain their challenge until the very end.
Rangers failed to maintain their high standards during the second half of last season, and manager Gerrard will make sure that his players do not repeat the same mistake.
