Derby County could find their way to a win on Saturday, but some fans have shown support for the defender’s performance.

Derby County failed to pick up a morale-boosting result away to Championship rivals Nottingham Forest on Saturday, losing 1-0 in a tight and closely contested 90 minutes.

It was defender Jayden Bogle who made the critical error that allowed Forest to score through Lewis Grabban. The teenager played a loose pass across the face of goal that the striker latched on to and made no mistake with.

The Rams have failed to win matches back-to-back at any point this season and that trend continued, after a victory over struggling Middlesbrough the weekend prior.

With their last victory at the City Ground coming way back in 2012 though, there weren’t massive expectations that Phillip Cocu’s side would pick up all three points.

From the overall performance, there were some positives for the Derby fans to take. One of those was Max Lowe’s display on the left flank.

The 22-year-old certainly had a busy day.

As shown by WhoScored.com, he completed two successful tackle attempts, made five interceptions, won two of three defensive aerial battles and made a clearance as part of a robust defensive performance.

With a completed dribble and a key pass too, he was the highest-rated Derby player on the pitch.

Having been in an out of the team in recent weeks, he’ll be hoping the performance ensures he retains his place for the upcoming clash against Preston North End after the international break.

These fans took to Twitter this weekend to share their thoughts on his display…
