Celtic right-back Hatem Elhamed has offered ‘bad news’ on the injury front.

It looks like Celtic fans won’t be seeing Hatem Elhamed for a little while.

Elhamed, who joined the Hoops for £1.6 million this past summer [Scottish Sun], suffered a groin injury in the 2-1 Europa League win over Lazio on Thursday.

And the Israel international has now revealed ‘bad news’ for Celtic.

The 28-year-old took to Instagram on Saturday to offer his own update, writing: “Bad news this morning but I will be back stronger. Thanks god always.”

It remains to be seen what the extent of this ‘bad news’ is, but the good news is that Celtic boss Neil Lennon has replacements.

Jeremie Frimpong has been getting the nod at right-back for domestic games as of late due to his exciting recent displays.

Alternatively, Lennon could also call on Moritz Bauer, who joined on loan from Stoke City this past summer.

Eyebrows were raised slightly when Celtic signed three right-backs during the summer, and letting Anthony Ralston leave, but the depth could be invaluable for the Bhoys now.
