Brentford defender Pontus Jansson played with Mateusz Klich at Leeds United.

Brentford central defender Pontus Jansson has responded to Mateusz Klich signing a new contract with Leeds United, as posted on Twitter.

As announced on Leeds’s official website today, Klich has put pen to paper on a new four-and-a-half-year contract.

Jansson played with the Poland international at Elland Road, and he is pleased to see the 29-year-old commit his future to the Whites.

Good decision from Leeds United

Klich is a very good midfielder who has established himself as an important player for Leeds, and him staying at Elland Road for the long term is certainly great for both the player and the club.

With the Whites chasing promotion to the Premier League this season, Klich will play an important role in that quest.

According to WhoScored, Klich has scored one goal and provided one assist in 16 Championship appearances for Leeds so far this season.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the Poland international midfielder scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 48 league appearances for the Whites, according to WhoScored.
