Almost 12 months and an Oscar later and we finally have the reveal that we've all been waiting for, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is getting a sequel!

Spider-Verse 2 is confirmed!
Apart from Tom Holland retaining the role of Spider-Man in the MCU, this was the Spider-Man news we have all been waiting for.
On November 1st, the official Spider-Verse Twitter account announced the release date for the Spider-Verse sequel, confirming that we'll have another animated Spidey adventure on April 8th, 2022.
Sure, that's a long wait but if the film is anywhere near as good as the original, it will be well worth it.
Which new Spider-people will feature?
Obviously, we're expecting to see Miles Morales star once again after fully embracing his role as Spider-Man last time out with Peter B. Parker and Gwen Stacey also high on fans' wishlists.
What many Spidey devotees did not expect to learn, however, was that Takuya Yamashiro, the Japanese Spider-Man from the 1970s TV series, would also be appearing in the Spider-Verse sequel.
For fans who know a little more about Takuya's Spider-Man, speculation has already started to emerge among fans that Leopardon could well make an appearance.

Who/what is Leopardon?
Leopardon is a giant robot that Takuya Yamashiro's Spider-Man used during the 1970s TV show to battle against giant monsters in scenes that look almost identical to those seen in the classic Power Rangers TV shows.
As a result, Leopardon takes on the appearance of one of the Megazords, or something similar, from the aforementioned Power Rangers TV shows.
Fans want it to appear?
Since the coy reveal from Phil Lord that the Japanese Spider-Man would be appearing in the Spider-Verse sequel, it hasn't taken long for fans to call for Leopardon to appear alongside him as well.
