Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is said to be of interest to Newcastle United.

Newcastle United fans largely appear against the idea of signing Granit Xhaka from Arsenal.

The Times claim that Newcastle want Xhaka, who could well depart the Gunners in January.

Xhaka fell out with Arsenal supporters during their match against Crystal Palace, when he gesticulated angrily towards them after being substituted.

Xhaka has now had the captaincy taken off him at Arsenal, and Newcastle are said to be looking to take advantage of the situation.

Steve Bruce reportedly feels that Xhaka could enhance Newcastle’s midfield.

However, Magpies fans do not appear to agree with their manager, with the bulk of their supporters against the idea of the signing.

Xhaka would bring experience to Newcastle, but whether he would improve their first-team is up for debate.

Sean Longstaff has shown great promise, while Isaac Hayden is in excellent form, and Jonjo Shelvey has recently been recalled.
