Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United brought the young goalkeeper on loan to Elland Road in the summer.

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Elland Road loanee Illan Meslier being called up to the France Under-20s squad for the upcoming international break.

The 19-year-old, who is on a season-long loan at Elland Road from French side Lorient, has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Whites, although he has put in some impressive displays for the Under 23s side this season.


Leeds confirmed the news via their Twitter channel, announcing that Meslier has been named in Bernard Diomede’s squad for their upcoming friendlies against Turkey and the Netherlands, where he will be vying with Yehvann Diouf of Stade de Reims for a place between the sticks.
