Leeds United defender Leif Davis is a very talented player.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has suggested to Leeds Live that Leif Davis could start against Blackburn Rovers this weekend.

Bielsa has spoken highly of the 19-year-old left-back, and has said that the teenager is an option for the Championship game against Blackburn this weekend.

Bielsa told Leeds Live when asked if Davis is close to starting: “He is one option at left-back. We have in this position Alioski, Douglas, Dallas and Davis is another option.

“Good value. Inside the young players we have at Leeds he’s a very good player and he has good options in the future.”

One for the future

Davis has made only a handful of appearances for Leeds first team so far, and the 19-year-old has looked good and confident.

The teenager can also operate as a central defender, and he does provide a valuable option at the back.

It will be interesting to see if Davis starts against Blackburn, and if he does, then he will not disappoint.

Promotion challenge

Leeds are third in the Championship table at the moment with 28 points from 15 matches, just two points behind leaders West Bromwich Albion.

The West Yorkshire outfit are aiming to clinch automatic promotion from the Championship to the Premier League at the end of the season.
