Steve Cooper’s Swansea City head to Hillsborough for a Championship clash against Garry Monk’s Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.

Ahead of their Championship trip to Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea City forward Sam Surridge is confident his side can go to Hillsborough and claim a result (official club website).

The Swans head to South Yorkshire having recorded consecutive league wins for the first time since August, following up the derby victory over Cardiff with a late winner at Wigan, courtesy of Surridge.

The Owls, meanwhile, lost to Blackburn last time out and have picked up just two points out of a possible 15 from clashes against sides in the upper reaches of the Championship this season (Sheffield Star).

Swansea are currently fourth in the table, with Wednesday in seventh, and Surridge is hopeful that, following an inconsistent run prior to their two wins, Steve Cooper’s side can kick on starting this weekend.

“I think we just need momentum. Everyone in the Championship is looking for it but, hopefully, we can be the team to get it,” the 21-year-old told the Swansea website.

“We need to go to Sheffield Wednesday this week with the same mindset. Hopefully, we can do that and put in the same of performance. We’re unbeaten away from home so we’re confident of going to places like there and getting something.”

Surridge has made 14 appearances in all competitions for Swansea this season, scoring five goals, of which two have come in the league and three in the League Cup, according to Transfermarkt.
