The Tottenham Hotspur summer signing made his first start for the club tonight.
Tottenham Hotspur have taken a big step towards the knockout stages of the Champions League with an impressive 4-0 victory away to Red Star Belgrade.
A Giovani Lo Celso goal on his first start since joining on loan from Real Betis sent Spurs on their way to the win, with a Son Heung-min double putting the game beyond doubt in the second half. Substitute Christian Eriksen then rounded off the scoring late in the match.
Mauricio Pochettino's side have now moved on to seven points in Group B after four matches.
Although still adrift from Bayern Munich, they are a comfortable four points ahead of tonight's opponents.
A home match against struggling Olympiacos on the next matchday will give them an opportunity to book their place in the last 16 of the competition.
Although they produced an accomplished team performance tonight, it was the display of Lo Celso that had some fans really purring, delighted by his contribution in attacking midfield.
As shown by WhoScored, he had a busy night, making more touches than anyone else on the pitch, with 102 in total.
Also contributing with two key passes and winning all five of his attempted tackles, as well as his goal, it was a very good shift from the 23-year-old.
His set-piece ability also won plaudits from some fans, noting he was more effective than Eriksen has been with that task recently.
These supporters are eager to see him start more matches, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on his Wednesday night performance...

Lo Celso's crossing this evening has been dangerous and threatening. A certain Dane on the bench should take note

Like the look of this lad
Really enjoying watching Lo Celso. It’ll be so, typically upsetting when his loan isn’t made permanent when we don’t qualify for the Champions League this season #Spursy

Fans have only been telling stubborn Poch to play Lo Celso all season. Imagine my shock that he's a baller.
