Arguably, 2019 was one of the best years for television in recent memory.

No matter what happens, we can always count on Idris Elba to do his thing!

The 47-year-old actor, musician, writer, DJ… we won’t go on, we could be here all day. Let’s just say that Idris is simply phenomenal, but most will know him for his time spent in front of the camera.

According to IMDb, he first appeared on screens in the TV series 2point4 Children back in 1994; he played the parachute instructor. Since then, his career has gone on to prosper, and we’ve been thoroughly impressed with him in the likes of TV’s The Wire (Russell ‘Stringer’ Bell), American Gangster (Tango), RocknRolla (Mumbles), Prometheus (Janek), Beasts of No Nation (Commandant), Molly’s Game (Charlie Jaffey), and more recently, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (Brixton).

There are some big blockbusters here, which makes it all the more inspiring to see him still so wrapped up in the personal passion project, In the Long Run.

Fans talk In the Long Run season 2

Upon the release of season 2, fans took to Twitter to praise the series.

One tweeted saying: “@idriselba loving In the Long Run season 2. Music is great, humour spot on and acting fantastic. LOVE IT.”

We’d have to agree! Similarly, another added: “Just watched In the Long Run on Sky One… series 1 and 2.. loved it.”

Season 2 has arguably gone down as well as the first one. Back in 2018, a fan on Twitter argued: “At last. A good British made TV comedy. Sky One’s In the Long Run. Well done @idriselba and @BillBailey.”

Well, we’re happy to say that there’s more where that came from.
