Tottenham Hotspur are in European action later today in Serbia.
Harry Kane has told the Daily Star that Tottenham Hotspur are attempting to win trophies, and he believes that they can still win the Champions League this season.
Tottenham have made a poor start to the campaign, with their performances well short of their best.
Spurs are now fighting to qualify from their Champions League group, as they look to go one better than last season, when they reached the final of the European competition.
And Kane insists that he still believes Spurs can lift silverware by the end of the season.
“We’ve got to try to find a way of consistently winning games," he said. "We're here to win trophies. If we can win one of the trophies we are still in, we will see that as a success.
“Can we still go all the way? I think so. You look at where we started in the group stage last year and where we got to, we proved a lot of people wrong. We’re in a better position now.
“If we win this game, we'd be in a great spot to qualify and then in the knock-out stage, as you saw last year, it can go anyone's way so that's the thing we've got to take.”
Tottenham have not lifted a major trophy since 2008, and it is the one real criticism of Pochettino’s time at the club.
The Argentine boss has unquestionably improved Spurs since taking over, but he has never been able to get them over the line in the league or a cup competition.
If Spurs are to lift the Champions League then they still have work to do to progress out of their group and into the knockout stages.
Tottenham take on Red Star Belgrade later this evening, as they look to collect an important three points in Serbia.
