Xhaka has been stripped of the Arsenal captaincy, following his dispute with supporters.
Xhaka was substituted off during Arsenal’s recent match with Crystal Palace, and he reacted angrily after being jeered by sections of the Emirates Stadium crowd.
Xhaka has not played for Arsenal since, and he has now had the armband taken away from him.
But Bellerin thinks that his teammate can turns things around, as he has also suffered difficult periods during his time with the Gunners.
“That was the situation with me, and as you can imagine it was really hard for me and it was the first time it happened to me and it was hard to deal with,” he said.
“I said to Granit that this is like in every walk of life, sometimes you are at the top, and the other time you are at a low. These are things you have to deal with. When these things happen to you, you have a whole squad to back you, and support you.
“That is what happened to me, all the players told me not to worry, to get my head down, train and do better, and people forget and forgive. It will be the same situation with him. I spoke to him when it happened and time heals.”
Xhaka is set to miss out on playing for Arsenal against Vitoria this evening, as Unai Emery works out the best way to re-integrate him back into the squad.
It still remains to be seen whether Xhaka will actually be able to win the Arsenal fans back around.
The Swiss international was not popular before his show of dissent towards them, and he has hardly helped to improve his standing after the latest incident.
