The Leeds United striker was perhaps unlucky not to end his barren spell on Saturday.

Patrick Bamford has now gone 10 Championship games without finding a goal for Leeds United.

But he could and perhaps should have ended that barren spell in Saturday’s 2-0 win over QPR at Elland Road.

Bamford, who hasn’t scored for Leeds since August, found the net with an excellent diving header against Mark Warburton’s side yesterday, though it was ruled out for offside.

But replays indicate that the £10 million Whites striker may have just been onside.

Regardless, it was another excellent all-round performance from the former Middlesbrough star, the like of which has kept him in Marcelo Bielsa’s first XI despite Eddie Nketiah knocking on the door.

Here’s how Bamford reacted to the Leeds win on Twitter:

Despite not scoring, it was a tireless performance from the 25-year-old and some Leeds fans showed him love in their response to his Twitter message.

Preston North End leapfrogged Leeds at the summit of the Championship by beating Charlton Athletic at The Valley this afternoon, moving top on goal difference.

If Bielsa’s side are going to win Premier League promotion, they’ll need Bamford – who has four goals in the Championship – doing more than just working hard.
