The Leeds United striker was perhaps unlucky not to end his barren spell on Saturday.
But he could and perhaps should have ended that barren spell in Saturday's 2-0 win over QPR at Elland Road.
Bamford, who hasn't scored for Leeds since August, found the net with an excellent diving header against Mark Warburton's side yesterday, though it was ruled out for offside.
But replays indicate that the £10 million Whites striker may have just been onside.
Regardless, it was another excellent all-round performance from the former Middlesbrough star, the like of which has kept him in Marcelo Bielsa's first XI despite Eddie Nketiah knocking on the door.
Here's how Bamford reacted to the Leeds win on Twitter:
Great to get the 3 points, lads were brilliant. Fans were immense, really feeling the love ...it’s coming #mot— Patrick Bamford (@Patrick_Bamford) November 2, 2019
Despite not scoring, it was a tireless performance from the 25-year-old and some Leeds fans showed him love in their response to his Twitter message.
I’ll tell you what Pat lad! You are a credit to the team. Tireless effort, superb all round game that influences and enhances the team. Ignore your critics, your goals will come. Waiting for the headline ‘Hatrick Bamford’ #lufc— Steve Lawrence (@super_leeds70) November 2, 2019
Side Before Self Pat, it’s written all over ER. Totally selfless performance today, led the line, led the press and covered every blade. Your time will come. Fire us back to the Premier League lad.— Darren John Young (@DarrenJohnYoung) November 2, 2019
Top effort today #MOT
Brilliant again, worked tirelessly for the team again!— Robbie (@RobbieT7) November 2, 2019
Robbed off a goal today @Patrick_Bamford you’ll. got it soon— David Ward (@ForshawFlair) November 2, 2019
Don't know what else you can do to score to be honest mate? Working your nuts off for the team and running defenders ragged. Gutted your goal was chalked off. Kepp doing the same and it will come— Richard Chew (@rickyachew) November 2, 2019
Brilliant today, so so important to how we play and the work rate is phenomenal, absolutely pressing the life out of defenders— Smalesy (@shez_dictates) November 2, 2019
Preston North End leapfrogged Leeds at the summit of the Championship by beating Charlton Athletic at The Valley this afternoon, moving top on goal difference.
If Bielsa's side are going to win Premier League promotion, they'll need Bamford - who has four goals in the Championship - doing more than just working hard.
