Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has said that beating Leeds United last season was one of his highlights of his time at Derby County in the Telegraph.

Mount spent last season out on loan with Derby, and he helped the Rams pick up a famous victory over Leeds in the play off semi-final.

Derby went into the second-leg of the play off semi-final trailing Leeds, but they turned the game on its head at Elland Road.

Mount was one of the scorers that evening, as Derby progressed to the final and celebrated wildly at Elland Road.

And Mount admits that beating Leeds still ranks as one of his favourite memories in football so far, alongside beating Manchester United in the League Cup.

“That [beating Manchester United] was probably one of a couple of games, Leeds away as well, that really sticks out,” he said. “That’s one of my best memories of being at Derby.”

Mount has since returned from Derby to Chelsea and he is really beginning to make a name for himself at Stamford Bridge.

Mount has been in wonderful form for Chelsea so far this term, with Frank Lampard putting great faith in the youngster.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has suggested to Goal that Mount’s value has already shot up to £60 million and it could be that the 20-year-old is worth even more than that by the end of the season, if he keeps up his current form.
