The pressure is mounting on Arsenal manager Unai Emery as his team continue to produce indifferent performances in the Premier League.
Kevin Campbell has urged the Arsenal board to get Unai Emery ‘out’ of the club because he thinks the club has regressed under his stewardship.
The former Gunners striker named four possible candidates to replace Emery in the dugout, including Massimiliano Allegri, Luis Enrique, Mikel Arteta and Patrick Vieira.
Arsenal have had an indifferent start to the new season, with past problems still resurfacing, and off-field issues resulting in him being criticised.
Speaking to AFTV, club legend Campbell was clear that it is time for Emery to go as it seems as though his preferred candidates would be either Allegri or Enrique.
“What has Unai Emery done to make us better?” Campbell questioned on AFTV. “I used to back managers, but I don’t back managers anymore because it’s wrong. When you back managers, you get stuck with that manager. And I don’t want to be stuck to any managers.
“I want Arsenal to progress and to be able to go and challenge. I don’t see it! So, I am calling out Unai Emery, right now because I am not seeing that. I think we’re regressing – In my opinion, Unai Emery, thanks for trying, but we’re going to go a different direction.
“The board should be getting him out and getting in someone like an Allegri or someone of that ilk. Luis Enrique, I like Luis Enrique – people even mentioned Arteta. What about Patrick Vieira?”
As mentioned above, what isn’t helping Emery’s cause is the Mesut Ozil situation and the situation involving Granit Xhaka.
Ozil has been completely frozen out, which isn’t sitting well with the fans, whilst Xhaka is club captain, something which most of the fans disagree with.
Not forgetting that he reacted in an angry manner towards the fans after being substituted by Emery during their draw against Crystal Palace over the weekend.
