Youssouf Mulumbu had been linked with a return to Scottish football after leaving Celtic.

Youssouf Mulumbu of Celtic arrives at the stadium prior to the UEFA Europa League Group B match between Celtic and Rosenborg at Celtic Park on September 20, 2018 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

The manager of one of Celtic's Scottish Premiership rivals appears to have ruled out a move for a player the Bhoys released at the end of last season.

Youssouf Mulumbu moved to Celtic from Kilmarnock in the summer of 2018, but played just three times for the side then managed by Brendan Rodgers before returning to Rugby Park on loan.

Aberdeen were beaten 4-0 by Celtic at Pittodrie on Sunday.
