Denis Zakara is ‘very likely’ to leave Borussia Monchengladbach in the near future with Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur among the clubs currently linked with the £43 million-rated Swiss international, according to Sky Germany.

It’s about time Zakaria became one of Europe’s most in-demand midfielders. At the age of 22, the former Young Boys star is already one of the most complete players around, a box-to-box enforcer equally happy throwing himself into tackles as he is driving up the pitch with pace and purpose.

According to Sky, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are interested on the back of Zakaria’s instrumental displays for shock Bundesliga leaders Gladbach.

SportBild recently claimed that Tottenham are also interested – and this is not the first time Mauricio Pochettino’s time have been linked with a man who has 24 caps for Switzerland already.

Gladbach have spent three consecutive weeks at the top of the Bundesliga for the first time since 1976 but, despite their excellent domestic form under new coach Marco Rose, Sky believes that it is only a matter of time before Zakaria flies the nest with his £43 million price tag unlikely to put off potential suitors.

Denis Zakaria is seen during a training session at Borussia Moenchengladbach Training Camp on January 10, 2019 in Jerez, Spain.
