One faction is absolutely convinced that the 19-year-old Norwich City flyer is exactly what they need with a new, long-term right-back understood to be right at the top of Mauricio Pochettino’s January wish list.
The others, however, have a nagging feeling that the chance has gone already. Spurs were linked with a £20 million move for Aarons in the summer, via The Mail, but the teenager has since signed a new five-year contract with Norwich while establishing himself in the Premier League.
As a result, his price tag will have skyrocketed in the last few months and we all know that chairman Daniel Levy prefers a bargain to a money-spinning splurge.
According to reports, Aarons is one of the players Pochettino has identified as an ideal January signing with the manager hoping to add some youth and a fresh dash of energy to a squad which appears to have grown rather stale since the turn of the year.
Aarons, young, talented and blessed with remarkable pace, certainly fits the bill. But Tottenham fans have seen far too many transfer targets slip through the net to get overly confident at this early stage.
No way Norwich will let Aarons go this January. They need to avoid relegation and he recently signed a new contract. Can't see this happening at all. Perhaps if they get relegated this is a possibility.— Harry (@EliteYid) October 24, 2019
If they sell Aarons they could reinvest and save themselves from relegation ♂️— Joel (@JoelTHFC) October 24, 2019

Max Aaron's won't be getting.... Bruno is high possibility considering he already signed personal terms with us last summer & Nathan is a rumour as of now.— Vishnu unni (@unni_tweetz) October 24, 2019

Would take Aarons all day long. Should have signed him in summer!.— A watson (@Awatson20539059) October 24, 2019
