According to Competition.dz, Leeds United are battling Marseille and Lille for Baghdad Bounedjah.

It has been reported that Al Sadd could decide to sell the striker for half their initial asking price of €15 million (£12.98m).

The report has claimed that Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa wants to land the Algeria international striker in the January transfer window.

It has also been claimed that French outfits Marseille and Lille – both former clubs of Bielsa – are monitoring the Algeria international as well.

Good signing for Leeds United?

Leeds are aiming to finish in the top two of the Championship table this season and clinch automatic promotion to the Premier League.

With Patrick Bamford struggling for goals in recent weeks and Arsenal-owned striker Eddie Nketiah still very young, the Whites could do with an experienced striker for the second half of the season.

The 27-year-old has scored seven goals in four league appearances this season, while last campaign, the striker found the net 39 times in 22 matches.
