Taskmaster series 10: Five comedians we need to see

Taskmaster Greg Davies And Alex Horne

Taskmaster series 9 is almost over but will it be followed by a tenth series?

The TV channel Dave is an odd one, it always has been. Viewers are treated to endless re-runs of Top Gear and an assortment of comedy series of varying descriptions.

However, the show that possibly best sums up Dave is Taskmaster, the weird and wonderful show that pits five funny people (usually comedians) against each other in a series of fiendish tasks.

Despite fairly humble beginnings in 2015's first series, the show has now reached its ninth series and rakes in an unbelievable 1.4 million viewers per episode as things stand.

But with just two episodes remaining in the ninth series at the time of writing, fans are starting to grow anxious over the lack of news regarding a possible 10th series of the incredibly brilliant show.

Taskmaster series 9

Taskmaster's ninth series has arguably been one of the show's finest with a cast of comedians that trumps almost every other series to date.

At the time of writing, the eighth episode of the series has just aired and Ed Gamble finds himself topping the leaderboard ahead of Katie Wix, Jo Brand, Rose Matafeo and David Baddiel.

But with just two episodes of the series left, viewers are still anxiously awaiting news about the possibility of more series.

Will there even be a series 10?

As things stand, Dave has not announced whether Taskmaster will be back for series 10 or beyond but with the success of the show growing with each new series, surely a tenth series has to be on the cards.

The series is currently attracting an audience of over 1.4 million viewers per episode as of series 9, the most ever for an original show on Dave.

Providing that creator Alex Horne can keep coming up with tasks and Greg Davies is still around to host as the notorious Taskmaster himself, it only makes sense for Dave to keep the show coming. After all, we still need a second Champions of Champions special!

Chances are, we'll probably get more news surrounding the future of Taskmaster once series 9 has come to an end on November 6th.

Five comedians we'd love to see on Taskmaster

If Taskmaster does indeed return for a tenth series, there are still plenty of comedians out there who would be the perfect fit for the show.

We'll obviously need to wait and see who Alex Horne and co. can bring onboard but here are some of the comedians we'd love to see make an appearance on the show.

Ross Noble

The eccentric Geordie is renowned for disappearing off onto tangents during his stand-up and it'd be a hilarious god-send to see him try to get his mind and long, flowing hair around some of the tasks on the show.

Sarah Millican

Continuing with the Geordie theme is comedy legend Sarah Millican who we'd love to see bring her no-nonsense attitude to Taskmaster.

Bill Bailey

Taskmaster is already a weird and wonderful show but just imagine how much weirder and more wonderful it could get if the brilliant Bill Bailey was persuaded to come on the show.

Miranda Hart

Miranda Hart is, as well as being a brilliantly funny comedian, stupendously tall and would be the perfect contestant to have opposite the monstrously tall Greg Davies.

Sandi Toksvig

We've already has Sandi's Bake Off co-host, Noel Fielding, on the show way back in series 4 so why not continue the trend by bringing the current QI host onto Taskmaster as well.

Some honourable mentions

Lee Mack

Tom Allen

Sue Perkins

Milton Jones

Taskmaster continues on Dave at 9pm on Wednesday October 30th with the series 9 finale coming a week later on November 6th.
