The Celtic midfielder was one of the Hoops’ top performers in the Europa League.

Some Celtic fans have been left delighted by the contribution of Ryan Christie in tonight’s match against Lazio at Celtic Park.

The attacker was in fine form against the Italians, scoring a crucial equaliser, then assisting the winner in a 2-1 result. It’s a victory that could prove absolutely vital in qualifying for the next stage of the competition.

Lazio showed a bit of quality throughout the 90 minutes but couldn’t extend their lead beyond their opener.

With the Hoops desperate for a goal, it was the ever reliable Christie who popped up on the end of an Odsonne Edouard pass to fire home.

He was the man who then crossed in a sumptuous corner for Christopher Jullien to head home with just a few minutes remaining.

The Scotland international has now scored a massive 12 goals this season, also assisting six times.

Six of those goals have come in Europe. No-one has been more important for Neil Lennon in continental action.

With two away matches in their final three group stage games, Celtic still have lots of work to do to make it into the Round of 32.

However, they do sit top of the group at the halfway stage with seven points, one point ahead of second placed Cluj.

They’ll need to continue to rely on players like Christie to get the job done.

These fans were thrilled by his latest contribution, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts tonight…
