Garry Monk will welcome his old club Leeds United to Hillsborough on Saturday as they face off against Sheffield Wednesday in a mouthwatering clash.
Leeds United supporters on Twitter think that Gjanni Alioski has just made a costly mistake by claiming he doesn’t know who Sheffield Wednesday boss Garry Monk is.
Monk managed Leeds prior to Alioski joining the club, as the Englishman will come up against his former side on Saturday in what is expected to be a mouthwatering contest.
But leading up to the game, Alioski has seemingly no idea who Monk [The Star] is despite coming up against him when he was Birmingham City manager last season
Whilst Alioski’s comments can seem funny, there are sections of Leeds fans who think that their player has just handed Sheffield Wednesday extra motivation for the weekend.
The game in itself doesn’t need any introduction and added with the fact that Monk is going to come up against his former club, it does add more spice to the occasion.
But Alioski has opted to add his own spice to the match, as he will be hoping that Leeds do walk away with the points because if they end up losing then Wednesday fans will use his recent comments against him.
Leeds go into the game sitting one point and one place above their near neighbours, as either team can move top of the table for a brief period on Saturday lunchtime if they pick up maximum points.
Here is a selection of Leeds supporters reacting on Twitter to Alisoki’s comments about Monk:
Its the sort of thing that might motivate former Leeds boss Garry Monk even more for a result. But it’s how GA rolls. Though not sure how this happened as I thought we had agreed that GA should at all times, be supervised by an adult. #lufc #MOT— Marc F ?ﾟﾒﾛ (@billywigwam13) October 23, 2019
Just done Monk’s teamtalk for him there. Wednesday are every bit as good as us at present, it will be no walkover. Especially if they score first.— Batesy (@batesylufc2) October 23, 2019
Well this will be a right laugh for them if we don’t beat them Saturday— O?ﾟﾇﾨ (@ollielufc0) October 23, 2019
Why dont these players shut up, there’s team talk done for monk— Colin McGrath (@colin17_colin) October 23, 2019

He’s the only guy we lost to twice last season, Gjanni..— Gregg Irwin (@greggleeds) October 23, 2019
