Roles is currently enjoying his first taste of competitive senior football with Cambridge United, having starred for Tottenham's youth teams in recent campaigns.
And it is fair to say that the 20-year-old is flourishing, with three goals to his name from 11 league and cup appearances.
Asked how he is finding life at the Abbey Stadium, Roles told Cambridge News: "I’m loving it so far.
"Everyone who I talk to always asks if I’m enjoying it and I always say 'yeah, it’s refreshing'.
"Because I’ve been at Tottenham since I was so young, it’s all I’ve really known. Since I’ve come here, it’s been like a breath of fresh air and something different. It’s refreshing and I’m loving it.
"When I get picked it’s always like ‘oh, I’m starting!’, and it’s a real confidence booster.
"Then I’ve got to do what I can do to help the team, and when we’re winning 4-0 against Exeter it’s just a huge bonus to everyone and it always feels better."
Roles is due back at Tottenham in the early New Year, although Spurs could yet opt to extend his stay away from the club - either in Cambridge or elsewhere.
The recent Cypriot national team call-up will hope to emulate his Tottenham teammate Harry Kane, who had temporary spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Leicester City and Norwich City before becoming a regular in Mauricio Pochettino's team.
