Patrick Bamford is set to start ahead of Eddie Nketiah for Leeds United again.
Leeds United fans on Twitter are perplexed by Marcelo Bielsa’s refusal to start Eddie Nketiah.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference ahead of tonight’s trip to Preston, the Whites boss confirmed that he’d be naming an unchanged XI from the side that beat Birmingham.
That means that Nketiah will be back on the Leeds bench, a week after he revealed his unhappiness over playing a bit-part role at Elland Road.
Bamford hasn’t scored in close to two months and the Elland Road faithful are desperate to see the Arsenal loanee start ahead of him up front.
Here’s how some fans reacted to Phil Hay’s tweet about the unchanged side.
Bielsa confirms an unchanged line-up for tomorrow’s game. Hernandez unlikely to be available this week. A different injury to his previous one. First was in his calf, this one is in his hamstring. #lufc— Phil Hay (@PhilHay_) October 21, 2019
Need to start Eddie or it’s going to cost us!— Daniel Gathercole (@gather100) October 21, 2019

What has to happen for Eddie to start? 1/4 of season gone now and he’s started 0 games in the league. Bamford is keeping him out of the team despite scoring only 4 goals in 3 of the 12 games he’s started. Can’t blame Eddie for leaving in January given the circumstances.— Steve Tatler (@SteveTats77) October 21, 2019

Ffs love Bielsa but be a bit more flexible, mix it up, try something new, we’ve got a strong squad!!— Bill Douglas (@BillDou35874386) October 21, 2019
Nketiah is already being linked with a return to Arsenal in January and the 20-year-old hitman might just favour a return to North London if he isn’t playing regularly.
Bamford, as mentioned, is going through a horrendous dry spell in front of goal and if the Leeds boss doesn’t rotate soon and give Nketiah a proper chance, it could upset the youngster even more.
